If you find yourself in La Plata, stay here.
Given the current economic situation in Argentina this place was incredibly cheap for someone paying in EUR/GBP/USD, location was close to unbeatable, and the staff were all very nice to deal with. Plenty of good restaurants nearby (definitely give Focacceria Lebrel one block north of the hotel a go), and the proximity to Avenida 53 means you have the nicest way of walking southwest towards Plaza Moreno and beyond. Breakfast buffet is your standard European hotel fare (ie better than what you get in the US or UK), and if you need to get to Ezeiza/Aeroparque there's a Remis service they work with who were reasonably priced (I had a very good deal from a friend of a friend but the company the hotel work with only charged ~10% more, ie definitely not a rip-off). I was only in La Plata for one night but would happily have stayed longer.
Barely counts as criticism, but bear in mind the hotel has different wi-fi networks for different floors, and you'll generally have access to at least two. I was staying on Floor 7, and the Floor 6-7 network was a bit patchy, so I switched to Floor 8 which worked much quicker (the password will be the same for all floors).

Dead cockroach on the bathroom floor ruined what could've been a pleasant stay at a 3-star hotel.
Amazing location. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Great window view to the park.
Slow Wifi but manageable. Dead cockroach on the bathroom floor when I got there. I did inform the staff when I did checkout but they're reaction was like 'that's normal here' and told me that they come in through the windows. No 'sorrys' or apologies.

Exceptional
The hotel was very clean and had amazing location. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. The hotel had a parking garage with few parking spots but we were able to park the car and they helped with the parking. The hotel serves very nice and healthy breakfast.
